 How To Use Flora Gel

How To Make Flora Gel: When hydrating gels, use distilled or rain water for extra large gels. Add 2 teaspoons of flora gel crystals to 1 litre of water. Allow to fully hydrate for 12 - 24hrs. This makes approximately 1litre of Flora Gel.

How To Colour: Method 1 Add 2 teaspoons of Flora Gel crystals to 1litre of water. Add a few drops of food colouring to the water. Allow to fully hydrate for 12 - 24hrs. Drain any excess water & rinse gels. Using this method of colouring results in much darker and stronger coloured gels.

How To Colour: Method 2 Add 2 teaspoons of Flora Gel crystals to 1litre of water. Allow to fully hydrate for 12 - 24hrs. Drain any excess water off. Add a few drops of food colouring directly onto the hydrated gels & allow colouring to coat the gels. Using this method of colouring results in softer & lighter coloured gels.

How To Use in Vases for Floral Displays: Hydrate Flora Gel as per instructions. Fill vase or glassware 3/4 with gels & simply arrange flowers to your liking. If needed more gels can be added to vase once flowers are arranged. Flowers will stand perfectly in gels.

How To Use in Bowls for Centrepieces or Floating Candles: Fill a clean bowl or any glassware with hydrated gels. Arrange floating candles or led lights in the gels and light. Flowers can be also arranged around candles for a little something different.

How To Layer Different Coloured Gels: Different colours can be layer as desired. Make up coloured gels as per instructions Lay required amount in the base of any vase or glassware. Add other layers as desired. Keep darker colours at the bottom & lighter colours at the top. This will allow the layers to stay layered longer. All colours will eventually blend into one.

How To Use in Oil Burners: Hydrate gels as per instructions. Gels may be coloured or clear. Add a Flora Gel to any oil burner. Add a few drops of your favorite smelly oils & allow gels to be coated. As gels heat up the water is released & gels start to shrink in size. Add more water to the gels to rehydrate & to reuse.

How To Use in Growing Plants: Remove plant from soil. Thoroughly rinse roots off all soil. Hydrate Flora Gel as per instructions. Liquid fertilizer & plant food can also be added when hydrating gels for growing plants in them. Half fill vase or glassware with gel and arrange plants roots in the gels. Hold plant in place and fill vase with remaining gels. Plants will tap into the gels and use water as required. Flora Gel will need to be watered when the gels start to shrink.

How To Make Smelly Jelly: Flora Gel will absorb most liquids but will not absorb oil. If you would like to make your own smelly jelly it is best to coat already hydrated gels with a few drops of your favourite smelly oils.

How To Use in Hot Packs: Hydrate Flora Gel as per instructions. Insert hydrated gels into a plastic bag. Heat up in microwave. Place or wrap hot gels into a cloth & use as a hot pack.

How To Use in Cold Packs: Hydrate Flora Gel as per instructions. Insert hydrated gels into a plastic bag. Place into freezer until needed. Remove from freezer and place or wrap frozen bag of gels in a cloth and use as cold pack.

How To Use For Transporting Fresh Flowers: Hydrate Flora Gel as per instructions. Flora Gel can be used loose or inserted into sealed pouches. Flora Gel can be frozen and removed from freezer when ready to use. Flora Gel will not leak after thawing and can be reused.

How To Look After Flora Gel: Gels that are used for fresh flowers will develop a smell. Gels will need to be rinsed regularly to keep bacteria from growing in any loose water, and to clean any dirt, dust and contaminants off the gels. Gels will need to be rehydrated regularly as they start to shrink from water evaporation. When you have no more use for Flora Gel, bury in the garden or pot plant as a water retainer!
